Indiana woman on death row since she was 16 to be released
Sun Jun 16, 2013
This is absolute madness. So, what, criminals can get their bachelor's degree, teach each other how to cook and get released? Is that how it works now? This is shameful.
Cost of Boston parking spot not priceless, but close
Fri Jun 14, 2013
If I had that type of money, I'd pay someone to drive me around and let them worry about parking. But, really, I don't understand why her multi-million dollar home didn't include parking.
US Marine, relatives kidnapped from Mexico border ranch
Tue Jun 4, 2013
Perhaps the media is overhyping the situation in Mexico; perhaps it isn't as bad as we all think.
We're all No. 1! Is 21 valedictorians too many?
Sun Jun 2, 2013
I was not a valedictorian--didn't even come clost, just your slightly-above average underachiever, and I think the idea of 21 (or 34, or any number above 1) is ridiculous. I don't like the "everybody is a winner" mantra we seem to be on.
Cops: Man who killed couple, raped tot released early from prison hours before
Wed May 29, 2013
It appears I am very confused about our legal system. This man was already in jail for breaking into a human and sexually assaulting a child and other residents, according to the article. He is sentenced to seven years in prison and is somehow released early.
Dying girl, 10, spurs fight over lung transplant fairness
Tue May 28, 2013
This is all very loaded and controversial, entwined with emotions that make it difficult to look at this objectively. No one wants to die; no one wants their child to die. The parents are doing the best they can in a difficult situation.
No paid vacation? You must be an American
Tue May 28, 2013
What's amazing are the people against a law requiring vacation. They are citing their own personal experiences where the companies they work for offer vacations. They are showing their American spirit when they fail to think of others who don't get vacations.
How to help Oklahoma tornado victims
Mon May 20, 2013
I would rather volunteer my time because I'll know that my efforts are actually being used to help victims. I often wonder where the money goes. After big events like Katrina, Haiti, the 2004 (2006?) tsunami, etc, there was a lot of talk about victims still in dire straits.
Chef to the stars Miki Nozawa dies following confrontation over unpaid bill
Fri May 17, 2013
There were no witnesses? I know people are scared to become involved, but no one called the police or drew attention to what was happening? So two people just beat this man to death in front of his own restaurant and everyone else was like... oh well. This is disturbing.
Texas woman charged with offering 3-year-old son for adoption on Craigslist
Wed May 15, 2013
I am confused as to how this is any different from the "legal" way of setting up an adoption. Potential adoptive parents pay attorneys thousands of dollars to assist them with adoption. Sometimes adoptive parents pay medical bills and other bills for the birth mother.
